2. Article 15. 11(3)(a) applies to day-trip vessels laid down on or before 1 April 1976 until the first issue or renewal of the Union inland navigation certificate after 1.1.2045, with the proviso that only paints, varnishes, coatings and other materials used on surfaces facing escape routes and other materials for the surface treatment of panels must be fire-resistant and that smoke or toxic vapours may not develop to any dangerous extent.
2. Artikel 15. 11, derde lid, onder a), is op schepen voor dagtochten waarvan de kiel is gelegd op 1 april 1976 of daarvóór, tot de eerste afgifte of verlenging van het EU-binnenvaartcertificaat na 1 januari 2045 slechts met dien verstande van toepassing dat slechts de verven, lakken en andere behandelingsmiddelen voor interieurs, gebruikt voor de naar de vluchtwegen toegekeerde oppervlakken, moeilijk ontvlambaar moeten zijn en rook en andere giftige gassen niet in gevaarlijke mate kunnen ontstaan.
