Calls on the Member States to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Migrant Workers , and draws their attention to the fact that most people who work without being in possession of the appropriate immigration documents are doing work which is legal and essential to Europe's economies, such as fruit picking, construction or maintenance work, and care of the sick, the elderly and children;
