J. whereas all the data demonstrate that the number of women infected with HIV/AIDS is very high, and is rising; whereas infection has an impact not only on the women themselves, but also on their pregnancies and children, whence the crucial need for appropriate sexual and reproductive health information and services to be made available so as to enable people in this category to protect themselves against unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS,
