As such, the rapporteur advocates that members examine ways and means of sustaining interest in ASEM and building upon the various initiatives which have been achieved so far; and equally that serious consideration be given to strengthening the social dimension in the ASEM process by, for example, creating a Social Forum along the lines recommended by the ICFTU and the Asia-Europe People’s Forum (an umbrella organisation of civil society groups).
Uw rapporteur is er daarom voorstander van dat de leden onderzoeken hoe de belangstelling voor de ASEM gaande kan worden gehouden en hoe verder kan worden gebouwd op de verschillende initiatieven die tot dusver zijn ontwikkeld. 4. Calls on FIFA and the sporting goods companies concerned to a) make sure that no child is employed in the production of FIFA-licensed sportswear and footballs b) implement the FIFA Code of Labour Practice that was agreed upon by FIFA, ICFTU, ITGLF and FIET (now UNI) in 1996 and c) agree on a transparent, credible and independent system for the monitoring and verification of production in the football industry;
