IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

The idea is to incorporate the provisions of the 2002 Athens Convention on passengers’ rights into Community law, and to extend them to national traffic and to inland navigation.
Het gaat erom de bepalingen van het Verdrag van Athene uit 2002 inzake de rechten van passagiers in het Gemeenschapsrecht op te nemen en deze bepalingen uit te breiden tot het nationale vervoer en de binnenvaart.

The Council conclusions are intended to give decision-takers at all levels, in line with their respective remits as determined at present in law, appropriate political signals for framing the necessary legislative proposals and further initiatives to promote inland navigation under the next Presidency.
Met deze conclusies wil de Raad de verantwoordelijken op alle niveaus, in het kader van hun uit de huidige rechtssituatie voortvloeiende bevoegdheden, passende politieke signalen geven voor de uitwerking van de noodzakelijke wetgevingsvoorstellen en van initiatieven ter bevordering van de binnenvaart onder het komend voorzitterschap.

2. Eligibility is subject to respect for Community policies and laws, notably in relation to competition, environmental and health protection, sustainable development and public procurement, and to the effective implementation of Community policies on the multimodal linkage of networks, in particular for rail and for inland navigation, maritime navigation and short sea shipping.

Om in aanmerking te komen moeten de projecten voldoen aan de communautaire voorschriften, met name op het gebied van mededinging, bescherming van het milieu en de gezondheid, duurzame ontwikkeling en gunning van overheidsopdrachten, terwijl het communautaire beleid inzake multimodale koppeling van de netwerken, met name de spoorwegnetten, alsmede infrastructuur voor binnen-, zee- en kustvaart, eveneens ten uitvoer moeten zijn gelegd.
