Cooperation has been exemplary and across party lines, and has borne fruit in the shape of a suggestion for a process that highlights what is crucial about urban and regional development, namely the right to proper and decent living space, the provision of which living space to the members of the public who need it as part of social accommodation support remains a responsibility for the Member States, for their municipalities and districts.
In een voorbeeldige samenwerking over de fractiegrenzen heen is een proces op gang gebracht dat de aandacht vestigt op het kernpunt van stads- en regionale ontwikkeling, namelijk het recht op een gepaste en menswaardige woonruimte. Het ter beschikking stellen van deze woonruimte aan behoevende burgers in het kader van het sociale huisvestingsbeleid blijft, zoals in het verleden, een verantwoordelijkheid van de lidstaten, meer in het bijzonder van hun gemeenten en districten.
