3. Ministers consider that the vulnerable groups should also have the possibility to familiarise themselves with the real Euro coins on the available premises of the Mints, in the Euro coin Test Centres or in other secure locations to be organised by Member States in collaboration with the representatives of vulnerable groups at national level.

De ministers zijn van oordeel dat de kwetsbare groepen zich ook met de echte euromunten vertrouwd moeten kunnen maken in de daarvoor toegankelijke lokalen van de Munten, bij de testcentra voor euromunten of op andere veilige locaties. Dit moet worden georganiseerd door de lidstaten in samenwerking met de vertegenoordigers van kwetsbare groepen op nationaal niveau.

The Commission, in collaboration with the Mint Directors and the European representatives of vulnerable groups, is preparing appropriate Euro tokens.

Furthermore, note was taken of the request by the vending industry to have the possibility to test its equipment with minted euro coins in their premises and Mint directors were invited to consider the issue.
Voorts is er nota genomen van het verzoek van de verkoopautomatenindustrie om de mogelijkheid te krijgen om haar apparatuur met geslagen euromunten in haar eigen gebouwen uit te testen, en is de directeuren van de Munten verzocht zich daarop te beraden.

Whereas Article 1 of Regulation (EC) No 975/98 (4) sets out the technical specifications of the eight denominations included in the first series of euro coins; whereas the mint directors have drawn up, on the basis of that Regulation, the more detailed specifications necessary for production;
Overwegende dat in artikel 1 van Verordening (EG) nr. 975/98 (4) de technische specificaties voor de acht denominaties van de eerste serie euromuntstukken worden bepaald; dat de directeuren van de munten op grond van Verordening (EG) nr. 975/98 de meer gedetailleerde specificaties hebben vastgesteld die noodzakelijk zijn voor de productie;

(4) Whereas the mint directors of the Community received a mandate from the Council to study and elaborate a report for a European single coinage system; whereas they submitted a report in November 1996 followed by a revised report in February 1997 indicating the denominations and technical specifications (diameter, thickness, weight, colour, composition and edge) of the new euro coins;
(4) Overwegende dat de Directeuren van de Munten van de Gemeenschap van de Raad de opdracht hebben gekregen een afgerond voorstel voor één Europees muntstelsel te bestuderen en uit te werken; dat zij in november 1996 een rapport hebben ingediend en vervolgens in februari 1997 een gewijzigd rapport hebben gedaan, waarin de denominaties en technische specificaties (diameter, dikte, gewicht, kleur, legering en randafwerking) van de nieuwe euromuntstukken worden aangegeven;
