Regulation (EC) No 595/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to emissions from heavy duty vehicles (Euro VI) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information and amending Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 and Directive 2007/46/EC , repealed Council Directive 80/1269/EEC of 16 December 1980 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the engine power of motor vehicles with effect from 31 December 2013.
Bij Verordening (EG) nr. 595/2009 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 18 juni 2009 betreffende de typegoedkeuring van motorvoertuigen en motoren met betrekking tot emissies van zware bedrijfsvoertuigen (Euro VI) en de toegang tot reparatie- en onderhoudsinformatie, tot wijziging van Verordening (EG) nr. 715/2007 en Richtlijn 2007/46/EG is Richtlijn 80/1269/EEG van de Raad van 16 december 1980 betreffende de onderlinge aanpassing van de wetgevingen der lidstaten inzake het motorvermogen van motorvoertuigen met ingang van 31 december 2013 ingetrokken.

Extending the maximum permissible laden mass to 7 500 kg would allow vehicles above the current light duty mass limits of 2610/2840 kg to be either type approved under the light duty or heavy duty vehicle legislation depending upon the choice of the manufacturer. The ‘maximum technically permissible laden mass’ is the total mass of the combination of the motor vehicle and trailer(s) as stated by the manufacturer.
Als de technisch toelaatbare maximummassa wordt opgetrokken tot 7 500 kg kunnen voertuigen met een hogere massa dan de huidige grenswaarden voor lichte voertuigen (2610/2840 kg) naar keuze van de fabrikant worden goedgekeurd volgens de wetgeving inzake lichte voertuigen of die inzake zware voertuigen. De technisch toelaatbare maximummassa is de totale massa van de combinatie van het motorvoertuig en de aanhanger(s) volgens de verklaring van de fabrikant.

(1a) EU type approval requirements exist inter alia on CO2-emissions (Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 setting emission performance standards for new passenger cars as part of the Community's integrated approach to reduce CO2-emissions from light-duty vehicles and Regulation (EU) No 510/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2011 setting emission performance standards for new light commercial vehicles as part of the Union's integrated approach to reduce CO2-emissions from light-duty vehicles(s) and on pollutant emissions (Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2007 on type approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions from light passenger and commercial vehicles (Euro 5 and Euro 6) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information and Regulation (EC) No 595/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to emissions from heavy duty vehicles (Euro VI) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information).
(1 bis) Er zijn EU-typegoedkeuringsvoorwaarden voor onder meer CO2-emissies (Verordening (EG) nr. 443/2009 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 23 april 2009 tot vaststelling van emissienormen voor nieuwe personenauto's, in het kader van de communautaire geïntegreerde benadering om de CO2 -emissies van lichte voertuigen te beperken en Verordening (EU) nr. 510/2011 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 11 mei 2011 tot vaststelling van emissienormen voor nieuwe lichte bedrijfsvoertuigen in het kader van de geïntegreerde benadering van de Unie om de CO2 -emissies van lichte voertuigen te beperken) en verontreinigende emissies (Verordening (EG) nr. 715/2007 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 20 juni 2007 betreffende de typegoedkeuring van motorvoertuigen met betrekking tot emissies van lichte personen- en bedrijfsvoertuigen (Euro 5 en Euro 6) en de toegang tot reparatie- en onderhoudsinformatie en Verordening (EG) nr. 595/2009 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 18 juni 2009 betreffende de typegoedkeuring van motorvoertuigen en motoren met betrekking tot emissies van zware bedrijfsvoertuigen (Euro VI) en de toegang tot reparatie- en onderhoudsinformatie).

This Regulation relates to Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2007 on type approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions from light passenger and commercial vehicles (Euro 5 and Euro 6) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information and to Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 setting emission performance standards for new passenger cars as part of the Community’s integrated approach to reduce CO emissions from light-duty vehicles .
Deze verordening houdt verband met Verordening (EG) nr. 715/2007 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 20 juni 2007 betreffende de typegoedkeuring van motorvoertuigen met betrekking tot emissies van lichte personen- en bedrijfsvoertuigen (Euro 5 en Euro 6) en de toegang tot reparatie- en onderhoudsinformatie , en met Verordening (EG) nr. 443/2009 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 23 april 2009 tot vaststelling van emissienormen voor nieuwe personenauto’s, in het kader van de communautaire geïntegreerde benadering om de CO-emissies van lichte voertuigen te beperken .

The objective of the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to emissions from heavy duty vehicles (Euro VI) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information is to lay down harmonised rules on the construction of motor vehicles to ensure the functioning of the internal market while at the same time ensure a high level of environmental protection regarding emissions of atmospheric pollutants.
Het doel van het voorstel voor een verordening van het Europees Parlement en de Raad betreffende de typegoedkeuring van motorvoertuigen en motoren met betrekking tot emissies van zware bedrijfsvoertuigen (Euro 6) en de toegang tot reparatie- en onderhoudsinformatie is het vaststellen van geharmoniseerde regels voor de constructie van motorvoertuigen met het oog op de goede werking van de interne markt en een hoog niveau van milieubescherming wat emissies in de atmosfeer betreft.
