TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

28. Welcomes the fact that the Network has provided the Commission with valuable suggestions on how to improve its services to agencies in general, as well as more specific recommendations concerning the accrual-based accounting system (ABAC), the administration of the financial entitlements of agencies' staff by the Paymaster Office, and procurement;

Recalls that on the basis of the Administrative Cooperation Agreement between the Secretaries-General of the Commission, Parliament and the Council, signed together with the EDPS on 7 December 2006 for a further period of three years with effect from 16 January 2007, the administrative handling of all EDPS missions is ensured by the Paymaster's Office of the Commission, and that the evaluation (effectively performed by the Commission's internal auditor, acting as EDPS Internal Audit Service on the basis of the Administrative Cooperation Agreement) had stated that the functionality and efficiency of the internal control system was adequate and that it provided reasonable assurance for the achievement of the EDPS's objectives;

Encourages inter-institutional co-operation in order to reduce costs and increase value for money while ensuring the institutional independance of each institution; welcomes the establishment of inter-institutional offices, such as the European Personnel Selection Office, as well as setting up of the Commission's administrative offices (Paymaster Office, Infrastructure Offices in Brussels and Luxembourg); is of the opinion that further co-operation between linguistic services could be envisaged;
