Irritability, conceit, and boorish behaviour may take the place of the more usual euphoric sociability. The disturbances of mood and behaviour are not accompanied by hallucinations or delusions.
Omschrijving: Een stoornis die wordt gekenmerkt door een lichte stemmingsverhoging die aanhoudend is, toegenomen energie en activiteit en doorgaans opvallende gevoelens van welbevinden en zowel lichamelijke als geestelijke competentie. Toegenomen gezelligheid, spraakzaamheid, vrijpostigheid, toegenomen seksuele energie en een afgenomen behoefte aan slaap zijn dikwijls aanwezig, maar niet in die mate dat ze op ernstige ontwrichting van werk of sociale afwijzing uitlopen.
