For the specific issue of dental amalgam, the Commission has recently put forward questions on the safety of dental amalgam and alternative dental restoration materials for patients and users to the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR).
Wat het specifieke gebruik van tandheelkundig amalgaam betreft, heeft de Commissie onlang een aantal vragen voorgelegd aan de Wetenschappelijke commissie voor nieuwe en nieuw geïdentificeerde gezondheidsrisico’s (SCENHIR). The Council: took stock, on the basis of the report from the Special Committee on Agriculture, of progress on the agricultural aspect of Agenda 2000 and welcomed the progress made since the Cardiff European Council; also examined the Presidency interim report on progress on the agricultural aspect of Agenda 2000, which will be forwarded to the General Affairs Council on 9 November 1998 for information, together with the report from the Special Committee on Agriculture; instructed the Special Committee on Agriculture and the relevant working parties to press ahead with detailed examination of the various draft legislative texts with a view to establishing consolidated versions at the earliest opportunity, without embarking upon examination of central policy questions; welcomed the Presidency's intention that the Agriculture Council should reach a clear political position at its November meeting, on the basis of a document to be put forward by the Presidency, as a contribution to the Vienna European Council.
