2. The holder of a diploma, certificate or other evidence of formal qualifications awarded on completion of a university course - or a course recognized as equivalent by the Member State concerned - in a scientific discipline allowing him to engage in the activities of the person referred to in Article 52 in accordance with the laws of that State may - if he began his course prior to 9 October 1981 - be considered as qualified to carry out in that State the duties of the person referred to in Article 52, provided that he has previously engaged in the following activities for at least two years before 9 October 1991 in one or more undertakings with a manufacturing authorization; production supervision and/or qualitative and quantitative analysis of active substances, and the necessary testing and checking under the direct authority of a person as referred to in Article 52 to ensure the quality of veterinary medicinal products.
2. De houder van een diploma, certificaat of ander bewijsstuk ter afsluiting van een universitaire opleiding, of van een door de betrokken lidstaat als daarmee gelijkwaardig erkende opleiding, in een exacte wetenschap die hem de bevoegdheid verleent om de taak van de in artikel 52 bedoelde persoon uit te oefenen overeenkomstig de wetgeving van deze Staat, kan, wanneer hij zijn opleiding is begonnen vóór 9 oktober 1981, als bevoegd worden beschouwd om in deze Staat de taak van de in artikel 52 bedoelde persoon uit te oefenen, op voorwaarde dat hij vooraf, vóór 9 oktober 1991, gedurende tenminste twee jaar in één of meer ondernemingen met een vergunning voor de vervaardiging, toezicht op de productie heeft uitgeoefend en/of kwalitatieve en kwantitatieve analyses van de werkzame stoffen, alsmede tests en controles die noodzakelijk zijn om de kwaliteit van geneesmiddelen voor diergeneeskundig gebruik te garanderen, onder rechtstreeks gezag van een in artikel 52 bedoelde persoon heeft verricht.

2. Where the legislation of the competent State makes wholly cost-free benefits in kind conditional upon use of the medical service organised by the employer, benefits in kind provided in the cases referred to in Articles 52 and 55 (1) shall be deemed to have been provided by such a medical service.
