The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has reacted to the proliferation of Italian applications by adopting two resolutions in which it acknowledged the fact that Italy has repeatedly failed to observe the norm relating to the reasonable duration of legal proceedings. The committee has also decided to stop examining Italian proceedings until radical reform is implemented.
