– (DE) We in the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament have worked hard to ensure that the new EU agricultural policy is oriented towards ecological standards.
– (DE) Wij sociaaldemocraten hebben ons sterk gemaakt voor een nieuwe koers van het EU-landbouwbeleid op basis van milieustandaarden.

– (PT) Madam President, with this reform we in the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament want to make the common agricultural policy (CAP) fairer, more equitable and more suited to the times in which we live, when the issues of the legitimacy of aid in relation to society and of food safety and food security in the broadest sense are more relevant than ever.
– (PT) De socialistische fractie wil met deze hervorming van het GLB een eerlijker en rechtvaardiger landbouwbeleid creëren dat beter aansluit op dit tijdsgewricht. Vragen met betrekking tot voedselveiligheid en de maatschappelijke legitimering van subsidies (alles in de ruimst denkbare zin) zijn nu immers relevanter dan ooit.

– (FR) I supported the report by my French socialist colleague Mr Le Foll since it defends the idea that European agriculture must continue to adapt, as it has already begun to do, to the consequences of the changes in climate taking place and to prepare for the impact that these changes will have in future for many regions of the European Union.

Council Decision 91/373/EEC of 8 July 1991 on the conclusion by the European Economic Community of an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Economic Community and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on a credit guarantee for exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs from the Community to the Soviet Union (1) and Council Regulation (EEC) No 599/91 of 5 March 1991 introducing a credit guarantee for exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs from the Community, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to the Soviet Union (2) dealt with a temporary situation and have therefore exhausted their effects.

− (DA) The Danish Members of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament have voted against the own-initiative report on the common agricultural policy and global food security, as the report opposes the liberalisation of agricultural policy and criticises EU rules on the restriction of pesticides.
− (DA) De Deense leden van de Sociaal-democratische Fractie in het Europees Parlement hebben tegen het initiatiefverslag over het gemeenschappelijke landbouwbeleid en mondiale voedselzekerheid gestemd, omdat het verslag tegen de liberalisering van het landbouwbeleid is en de EU-regels betreffende de beperking van pesticiden bekritiseert.

The specific and exceptional quality of ‘Slovenská parenica’ is borne out by the fact that its name is protected under two bilateral agreements. These are the Agreement of 18 May 1987 between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Portugal on the protection of designations of origin, data of origin and other geographical and analogous indications and the Agreement of 20 January 1981 between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Austria on protection of designations of origin, data of origin and other designations of agricultural and industrial products.

It is unfortunate that a Socialist, of all people, who, by nature, believes in a society that can be moulded to one's will, should accept the liberalisation of agriculture as a natural phenomenon.
Jammer dat juist een socialist, die van nature toch gelooft in een samenleving die hij naar zijn hand kan zetten, de liberalisering van de landbouw als een natuurverschijnsel accepteert.

Whereas Council Regulation (EEC) No 1272/80 of 22 May 1980 on the conclusion of the Interim Agreement between the European Economic Community and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on trade and trade cooperation (6) provides in Title I B for preferential duties for certain agricultural products, in particular for products obtained from beef and veal and falling within Common Customs Tariff subheadings 01.02 A II a) ; 02.01 A II a) 1 aa), 2 aa) and 3 aa) ; whereas the special levies have been abolished for these products and consequently these subheadings may be abolished;
Overwegende dat onder Titel I, ad B van Verordening (EEG) nr. 1272/80 van de Raad van 22 mei 1980 houdende sluiting van de Interimovereenkomst tussen de Europese Economische Gemeenschap en de Socialistische Federatieve Republiek Joegoslavië betreffende het handelsverkeer en de commerciële samenwerking (6) is voorzien in preferentiële rechten voor bepaalde landbouwprodukten, met name voor produkten uit de sector rundvlees van de posten 01.02 A II a), 02.01 A II a) 1 aa), 2 aa) en 3 aa), van het gemeenschappelijk douanetarief ; dat de afzonderlijke heffingen voor die produkten zijn opgeheven en de desbetreffende tariefposten derhalve kunnen worden geschrapt;
