Catch figures recorded since the scheme was introduced reveal a major increase in catches made outside the Convention area (approximately 30 000 tonnes, as against approximately 11 000 tonnes in previous years), particularly in FAO Statistical Area 51 in the South-West Indian Ocean.
In de vangstgegevens vanaf de inwerkingtreding van de regeling was namelijk een sterke stijging van de buiten het verdragsgebied gevangen hoeveelheden geconstateerd (ongeveer 30.000 ton, tegenover 11.000 in de voorgaande jaren), vooral in statistisch gebied 51 van de FAO in de Zuid-Westelijke Indische Oceaan.
