5. For intermediate products which are contained in bottles with 'mushroom stoppers' held in place by ties or fastenings, or have an excess pressure due to carbon dioxide in solution of three bars or more, Member States may apply the same rate as provided for products falling within the scope of Article 12 (2), provided that this rate is higher than the national rate for intermediate products.

Voor tussenprodukten die verpakt zijn in flessen met een champignonvormige stop die door draden of banden of anderszins is geborgd, of een overdruk hebben die teweeggebracht is door koolzuurgas in oplossing, van 3 bar of meer, mogen de Lid-Staten hetzelfde tarief toepassen als het tarief voor de produkten die onder artikel 12, punt 2, vallen, op voorwaarde dat dit tarief hoger is dan het nationale tarief voor tussenprodukten.
