The Agency should contribute towards raising the awareness of individual users of electronic communications, infrastructure and services, including by assisting Member States, where they have chosen to use the public interest information platform provided for in Directive 2002/22/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 March 2002 on universal service and users’ rights relating to electronic communications networks and services (Universal Service Directive) , to produce relevant public interest information regarding network and information security, and also by assisting in the development of such information to be included with the supply of new devices intended for use on public communications networks.

For that purpose, a working group (the ‘User Forum’) should be set up to assist the Copernicus Committee with the identification of user requirements, the verification of service compliance and the coordination of public sector users.

(3b) 'Assistive technology' means any hardware or software that acts as a user agent or along with a mainstream user agent to provide functionality to meet the requirements of users with disabilities that go beyond those offered by mainstream user agents.
(3 ter) „Hulptechnologie”: elke hard- of software die als useragent of in combinatie met een reguliere useragent wordt ingezet om operationeel te voldoen aan de eisen van gebruikers met een handicap die verder gaan dan de gebruiksmogelijkheden welke worden geboden door reguliere useragents.

(34) All end-users should continue to enjoy access to operator assistance services whatever organisation provides access to the public telephone network.

3. Member States shall ensure that all end-users provided with a connection to the public telephone network can access operator assistance services and directory enquiry services in accordance with Article 5(1)(b).
