The derogation provided for in Article 1 shall apply to supplies of wood products by taxable persons including standing timber, round or cleft working wood, fuel wood, timber products, as well as square edged or chipped wood and wood in the rough, processed or semi-manufactured wood.

24. Calls on the Commission to support the Member States' efforts to mobilise wood resources in forests and to overcome the structural disadvantages of smaller forestry undertakings in relation to the utilisation and marketing of their forestry products, in order to ensure the Community's long-term self-supply with regard to wood and wood products; considers, in particular, that certain obstacles to the use of wood should be removed and consideration should be given to the rules and standards governing research and development in relation to innovative uses of wood and measures to boost the skills profile; emphasises the sources of income, only partly used hitherto, offered by non-wood forest products such as cork, mushrooms and berries and the provision of services such as nature tourism and hunting, whereby game management plays a role which should not be neglected in the context of income diversification in some of the Member States within the meaning of Article 33, indents 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11 of Regulation (EC) No 1257/1999;
24. roept de Commissie op de inspanningen van de lidstaten ten behoeve van de mobilisering van de houtvoorraden in de bossen en ter overwinning van de structurele nadelen van kleine bosbouwbedrijven bij het gebruik en de commercialisering van hun bosbouwproducten te ondersteunen, teneinde de zelfvoorziening van de Gemeenschap in hout en houtproducten duurzaam te waarborgen; wijst erop dat daartoe met name bepaalde obstakels voor de toepassing van hout moeten worden weggenomen en moet worden gekeken naar de bepalingen en normen in verband met onderzoeks- en ontwikkelingsactiviteiten betreffende innovatieve toepassingen van hout en naar maatregelen ter verhoging van het kwalificatieprofiel; onderstreept de tot dusverre slechts ten dele benutte inkomstenbronnen van andere bosproducten dan hout, zoals kurk, paddestoelen en bessen of het verlenen van diensten op het terrein van onder meer natuurtoerisme en jacht, waarbij de jacht in de zin van artikel 33, streepjes 4, 5, 7, 9, 10 en 11 van Verordening (EG) nr. 1257/1999 in het kader van de inkomensdiversificatie in sommige lidstaten een niet onbelangrijke rol speelt;

With regard to the implementation of Directive 76/769/EEC on 26/1/2003 concerning wood that has been treated with copper, chrome and arsenic wood preservatives, can the Commission say if any measures have been taken to ensure that wood treated with copper, chrome and arsenic wood preservatives on sale in the UK this summer as timber decking will be labelled as having been treated with these wood preservatives?
Kan de Commissie, nu richtlijn 76/769/EEG op 26/1/2003 van toepassing is geworden op hout dat is behandeld met koper-, chroom- en arseenhoudende verduurzamingsmiddelen, meedelen of er maatregelen zijn genomen om te waarborgen dat met koper-, chroom- en arseenhoudende verduurzamingsmiddelen behandeld hout dat deze zomer in het Verenigd Koninkrijk als tuinhout te koop wordt aangeboden, van een etiket is voorzien waaruit blijkt dat het met deze middelen is behandeld?
