To this end, account shall be taken of the UNECE standards recommended by the Working Party on Agricultural Quality Standards set up under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

In an international context characterised by a food crisis and an explosion in agricultural prices, we should be moving much more quickly towards doing away with these subsidies, which have a dumping effect that is intolerable for millions of small producers in the developing countries. Can the Commission say, with the help of statistics and a timetable, exactly what its intentions are on this matter?

To that end, and in the interest of preserving transparency on the world market, account should be taken of the UN/ECE standard FFV-09 concerning marketing and quality control of headed cabbages recommended by the Working party on agricultural quality standards of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE).
Voor het behoud van de doorzichtigheid op de internationale markten dient daarbij rekening te worden gehouden met „UN/ECE Standard FFV-09 concerning marketing and quality control of headed cabbages” (UN/ECE-norm FFV-09 betreffende het in de handel brengen en de kwaliteitscontrole van sluitkool) die is aanbevolen door de „Working Party on Agricultural Quality Standards” (Werkgroep kwaliteitsnormen voor landbouwproducten) van de Economische Commissie voor Europa van de Verenigde Naties (UN/ECE).

At that meeting, an examination of the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council recasting Council Regulation (EC) No 2597/95 of 23 October 1995 on the submission of nominal catch statistics by Member States fishing in certain areas other than those of the North Atlantic resulted in the Consultative Working Party’s establishing, by common accord, that in Article 5(1) the wording "Standing Committee on Agricultural Statistics" should be adapted so as to read "Standing Committee for Agricultural Statistics".

Areas for support include multilateral surveillance, improvement of national accounts, price statistics, agricultural statistics, statistics on natural resources and on the pressures on the environment, foreign trade, business statistics and statistical training.
Er zal onder meer ondersteuning worden geboden op de volgende gebieden: multilateraal toezicht, verbetering van nationale rekeningen, prijsstatistieken, landbouwstatistieken, statistieken over natuurlijke hulpbronnen en over de belasting van het milieu, statistieken over buitenlandse handel, bedrijfsstatistieken en statistische opleiding.

It also covers methodology, classifications and procedures for data collection in various areas such as statistical infrastructure, macro-economic and price statistics, business statistics, transport statistics, external trade statistics, demographic and social statistics, agricultural statistics, environment statistics, science and technology statistics and regional statistics.
