68. Intends to continue to take an active part in the work organised by the Commission as part of the follow-up to its above-mentioned communication on the EU response to situations of fragility; draws the attention of the Council and Commission to the fact that it is now urgent that this work, which has been too slow, might swiftly lead to concrete actions to be taken on the ground in such key areas as health and education, and calls on the Commission to keep the European Parliament fully informed of further steps undertaken with regard to the conclusions of country case studies and particularly in terms of the use of these findings for the identification and design of subsequent actions;
68. is voornemens actief deel te nemen aan de werkzaamheden die door de Commissie als vervolg op de bovengenoemde mededeling over een antwoord van de EU op onstabiele situaties worden georganiseerd; vestigt de aandacht van de Raad en de Commissie op het feit dat het hoog tijd is dat deze werkzaamheden, die veel te traag verlopen, resulteren in de tenuitvoerlegging van concrete maatregelen ter plaatse op essentiële gebieden als gezondheid en onderwijs, en dringt er bij de Commissie op aan het Europees Parlement volledig op de hoogte te houden van verdere stappen die worden genomen naar aanleiding van landenverslagen, met name met het oog op het toepassen van deze bevindingen bij de identificatie en het formuleren van de daaropvolgende maatregelen;

The aims of these seminars are: - to inform regional and local authorities about activities at Community level in the field of regional development planning: the Europe 2000 programme, several Commission communications, opportunities offered by the INTERREG Community Initiative and pilot projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund; - to facilitate and encourage participation by the regional and local authorities in the broad cooperation which is starting up in the field of regional development planning in connection with the instruments mentioned above; - in the case of prospective new member countries in central and eastern Europe, to facilitate their understanding of the issues and include them in the emerging cooperation process; - give the main regional and local actors involved in regional planning and policy-making an opportunity to make their views known to representatives of the European institutions and pass on their concrete experience on the ground.
Met deze seminars worden de volgende doeleinden nagestreefd : - de regionale en plaatselijke overheden informeren over de op communautair niveau ontplooide activiteiten op het gebied van ruimtelijke ordening : programma Europa 2000, mededelingen van de Commissie, mogelijkheden in het kader van het initiatief INTERREG en van de modelprojecten van het Europees Fonds voor Regionale Ontwikkeling; - deelneming door die overheden aan de samenwerking op het gebied van de ruimtelijke ordening, die dankzij de genoemde instrumenten op gang begint te komen, vergemakkelijken en bevorderen; - voor de landen in Midden- en Oost-Europa die willen toetreden, het hun gemakkelijker maken om een beter inzicht in dit thema te verkrijgen en hen nu reeds bij een samenwerkingsproces betrekken; - de regionale en plaatselijke hoofdrolspelers in het ruimtelijke beleid de gelegenheid geven om vertegenwoordigers van de Europese instellingen te informeren over hun zienswijze en over hun concrete ervaring.
