The OECD's Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Officials in International Business Transactions (Anti-Bribery Convention)[15] focuses on the specific issue of bribery of foreign public officials in international business transactions, and cannot be extended to other areas of importance for the fight against corruption in the EU. The seventh annual Progress Report prepared by Transparency International[16] indicated that enforcement of the Anti-Bribery Convention has been uneven: active enforcement occurred in only four EU Member States and little or no enforcement in 12 EU Member States.
Het Verdrag van de OESO inzake de bestrijding van omkoping van buitenlandse ambtenaren in internationale zakelijke transacties (Verdrag inzake de bestrijding van omkoping)[15] is specifiek gericht op de omkoping van buitenlandse ambtenaren in internationale zakelijke transacties en kan niet worden uitgebreid naar andere belangrijke gebieden van de corruptiebestrijding in de EU. Within the EU anti-corruption reporting mechanism the Commission will draw on input from GRECO and other relevant sources including information obtained within the framework of the OECD's Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Officials in International Business Transactions (Anti-Bribery Convention) and the UN Convention against Corruption.
