Will the Commission ask the authorities of the Russian Federation to give an account of the causes, including technical causes, of the crash involving aircraft TU-154 on 10 April 2010? In this crash, a total of 96 Polish citizens tragically died, including the President of Poland, Lech Kaczyñski, senior officers of all branches of the Polish armed forces, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Ombudsman for Civil Rights, numerous leading members of political parties and representatives of associations commemorating the massacre of Polish officers perpetrated by the Soviet Union in 1940.

Believes that the Member States should adopt a code of conduct containing ethical guidelines and other good practices to be adhered to by certified translators and interpreters, failing which accreditation would be withdrawn or the individuals concerned would be dismissed from the profession; this code of conduct should be drawn up with due regard for the opinions of all interested parties, such as schools for translators and interpreters, ministries of justice and professional associations and so on; also believes that Member States should provide suitable technical training courses for sworn translators and interpreters to ensure that they understand the meaning of legal terms and are versed in the workings of the judicial system;
11. is van mening dat de lidstaten een gedragscode met beroepsregels en richtsnoeren voor goede werkwijzen moeten opstellen waaraan gerechtstolken en -vertalers zich moeten houden en dat niet-naleving daarvan moet leiden tot het verlies van de erkenning of uitzetting uit het beroep; meent dat bij de opstelling van deze gedragscode rekening moet worden gehouden met de mening van alle betrokken partijen, waaronder scholen voor vertalers en tolken, ministeries van Justitie en beroepsverenigingen; is tevens van mening dat de lidstaten er met passende opleidingscursussen voor moeten zorgen dat gerechtstolken en -vertalers bekend zijn met de juridische terminologie en de rechtsgang in het algemeen;
