This popularisation initiative will be organised by some 20 fusion research laboratories in the Member States (plus Sweden and Switzerland) linked together in the EU Fusion Programme. In this field, integration is essential for the optimal use of human and financial resources and the European programme has enabled the creation of the JET (Joint European Torus), the world's largest prototype of a magnetic confinement machine.
Dit vulgarisatiewerk wordt georganiseerd door een twintigtal onderzoeklaboratoria voor kernfusie in de Lid-Staten (plus Zweden en Zwitserland) die meewerken aan het fusieprogramma van de EU. Op dit terrein is integratie essentieel om optimaal gebruik te kunnen maken van de beschikbare personele en financiële middelen; zo heeft het Europees programma de oprichting mogelijk gemaakt van JET (Joint European Torus), het grootste prototype van een magnetische-opsluitingsmachine ter wereld.
