In its opinion, the Authority considered that the taxonomic re-classification of the strain of Bacillus cereus var. toyoi (NCIMB 40112/CNCM I-1012) as a new species named Bacillus toyonensis had no impact on the assessment thereof, as it still belongs to the Bacillus cereus group.

In haar advies is de EFSA van mening dat de taxonomische herindeling van de stam Bacillus cereus var. toyoi (NCIMB 40112/CNCM I-1012) als een nieuwe soort met de naam Bacillus toyonensis geen gevolgen heeft voor de beoordeling ervan, aangezien deze nog steeds tot de Bacillus cereus-groep behoort.

The preparation Bacillus cereus var. toyoi (NCIMB 40112/CNCM I-1012), belonging to the group of ‘micro-organisms’, was authorised in accordance with Council Directive 70/524/EEC (2) without a time-limit as a feed additive for chickens for fattening and rabbits for fattening by Commission Regulation (EC) No 1200/2005 (3).
