In reality, Europe now has the technological and economic wherewithal to realise this vision: the internet of things and big data, control of complex processes through mobile applications, ‘prosumption’ though the down-scaling of production and fall in production costs (e.g. renewable energies, 3D printing), new transaction and payment modes (blockchain, bitcoins and smart contracts), cooperatism and the sharing economy as new business concepts, and other innovations.
Europa heeft op dit moment de technologische en economische middelen om deze visie waar te maken: het internet der dingen en big data, controle van complexe processen door middel van mobiele applicaties, „prosumptie” door middel van het verkleinen van de schaal van productie en een daling van productiekosten (bijv. hernieuwbare energie, 3D-printen), nieuwe transactie- en betaalmethoden (blockchain, bitcoins en slimme contracten), coöperatisme en de deeleconomie als nieuwe ondernemingsconcepten en andere innovaties.
