The Commission would like first to mention that, although these diseases are, as such, not specifically earmarked as major diseases in the current 6th Research framework programme, a number of projects, related to chronic inflammation, rheumatic disease models, and to the development of adequate therapies, are already being funded in this field under the current Framework Programme.
De Commissie wil er allereerst op wijzen dat een aantal projecten op het gebied van chronische ontstekingen, modellen voor reumatische aandoeningen en de ontwikkeling van adequate behandelmethoden - ook al zijn deze aandoeningen in het huidige, zesde kaderprogramma voor onderzoek niet specifiek ingedeeld bij de ernstige ziekten - reeds gefinancierd worden in de context van dit kaderprogramma.
