As a step towards establishing facts, the Rapporteur welcomes the survey on unfair practices recently conducted by CIAA (Confederation of the Food and Drinks Industries) and AIM (European Brands Association).
De rapporteur is ingenomen met de eerste stap naar het vaststellen van de feiten die gezet is in de vorm van het onderzoek naar oneerlijke praktijken dat onlangs werd uitgevoerd door de CIAA (Confederation of the Food and Drinks Industries) en de AIM (European Brands Association).

In particular, the EU calls for the restoration of representative democracy; the fast release of all political and other prisoners detained under emergency ordinances; for unrestricted access without the need for prior notice to all detainees to be given to the NHRC and its representatives; for political parties and civil society organisations to be granted the freedom to organise and operate; for the lifting of reporting restrictions on the media; assurances of CIAA continued independence and for the restoration of the right to assembly and other fundamental rights.
De EU verzoekt met name dat de representatieve democratie wordt hersteld; dat alle om politieke of andere redenen op grond van noodverordeningen vastgehouden gevangenen snel worden vrijgelaten; dat de Nationale Commissie voor de Rechten van de Mens (NHRC) en haar vertegenwoordigers zonder voorafgaande kennisgeving onbeperkte toegang krijgen tot alle gevangenen; dat politieke partijen en maatschappelijke organisaties de vrijheid krijgen om zich te organiseren en actief te zijn; dat de aan de media opgelegde beperkingen inzake informatieverspreiding worden opgeheven; dat er garanties worden gegeven voor het behoud van de onafhankelijkheid van de met het onderzoek naar machtsmisbruik belaste commissie (CIAA), en dat het recht van vereniging en de andere grondrechten worden hersteld.
