Whilst it is now accepted that the development and enhancement of the search and rescue service offered by Cospas-Sarsat requires the use of satellite radionavigation, efforts should be made to ensure the compatibility of the technical specifications adopted for this purpose by the Galileo, GPS and GLONASS systems.
