* The Supply Chain Management initiative of EICTA (European Information and Communications Technology Industry Association) has the objective of developing a common European supply chain management approach for the electronics industry, simplifying data collection for both the requestor and the supplier whilst driving environmental improvements in supplied items.

Is of the opinion that a comprehensive sustainability and impact assessment is paramount to an overall assessment of EU-Japan trade relations; asks the Commission to present in due time such an assessment, detailing in particular the possible advantages and disadvantages of reinforced trading relations between the EU and Japan for all sectors involved, and in particular for all industrial sectors and those which are more sensitive, such as the automotive, electronics<b class=yellow2>, aviation and machinery sectors;

Product Testing Set-up, Methodology, and Documentation: The testing and measurement methods below reference published specifications from the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) Display Metrology Committee and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and supplement those guidelines where necessary with methods developed in cooperation with the computer monitor industry.
Testopstelling, methodiek en documentatie: De onderstaande test- en meetmethoden vertrekken van door het Display Metrology Committee van de Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) en de International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) gepubliceerde specificaties. Voorts werden initiatieven inzake normalisering van de elektronische handel en met het oog op de totstandbrenging van een consensus in het algemeen op gang gebracht. Dat gebeurde in nauwe samenwerking met de Europese normalisatie-instituten. Opzet is de bevordering van open elektronische markten in een aantal bedrijfstakken en, na een gerichte bewustmakingscampagne, het aantrekken van belangstellende partijen, met inbegrip van kleine en middelgrote ondernemingen, via hun Europese verenigingen. Daarbij wordt gestreefd naar industriële overeenkomsten en gedragscodes in de vorm van workshopakkoorden van het Europees Comité voor normalisatie (CEN) of open specificaties die een zelfregelend systeem vormen (ECOM-IS: open markt voor elektronische handel in bedrijfstakken) (www.cenorm.be/isss).
