The Council adopted Conclusions on the Special report No 3/2002 of the Court of Auditors concerning the Community Initiative Employment - Integra.
De Raad nam conclusies aan over het Speciaal verslag nr. 3/2002 van de Rekenkamer over het Communautair Initiatief Werkgelegenheid - Integra.

Its recalled that, launched in 1996 as a new fourth strand of the Community initiative "Employment and development of human resources" for the programming period 1997 to 1999, INTEGRA aimed at promoting measures to improve the access to the labour market and the employability of vulnerable groups who find themselves excluded from it, or at risk of being excluded from it.
Gememoreerd wordt dat INTEGRA, dat in 1996 als een nieuw, vierde onderdeel van het communautair initiatief "Werkgelegenheid en ontwikkeling van menselijke hulpbronnen" is ingevoerd voor de programmaperiode 1997-1999, ten doel heeft maatregelen te bevorderen ter verbetering van de toegang tot de arbeidsmarkt en de vergroting van de arbeidskansen van kwetsbare groepen die van de arbeidsmarkt uitgesloten zijn of dreigen te worden.

– I voted in favour of Mrs Stenzel’s report on the EQUAL initiative as I believe that it is essential to continue the work begun under the previous NOW, HORIZON, YOUTHSTART and INTEGRA strands of the ADAPT and EMPLOYMENT initiatives. The lessons we have learned under these actions must be built on.
- (EN) Ik heb vóór het verslag van mevrouw Stenzel over het EQUAL-initiatief gestemd. Mijns inziens is het namelijk essentieel dat er een vervolg komt op de activiteiten die in het kader van de ADAPT- en EMPLOYMENT-initiatieven zijn opgestart via de eerdere subprogramma's NOW, HORIZON, YOUTHSTART en INTEGRA.

- having regard to the two former "Human Resources" Initiatives, ADAPT which addressed the human resources aspects of industrial change and EMPLOYMENT with its four distinct strands: NOW for developing equal opportunities for women in the labour market, HORIZON for disabled and other disadvantaged groups, YOUTHSTART for young people without formal qualifications and INTEGRA for people excluded or at risk of exclusion from the labour market,

– (PT) The Commission intends to use the Community initiative EQUAL to replace the Community EMPLOYMENT and ADAPT initiatives and various subprogrammes in these areas, such as NOW, on new opportunities for women, HORIZON, for disabled persons, YOUTHSTART, for promoting the labour market integration of young people, and INTEGRA, for groups threatened with exclusion.
- (PT) Het is de bedoeling dat het door de Commissie ontworpen communautaire EQUAL-initiatief de communautaire initiatieven EMPLOYMENT en ADAPT vervangt. Het slorpt tevens een aantal bestaande subprogramma's op, waaronder NOW (New Opportunities for Women), HORIZON (ten gunste van gehandicapten), YOUTHSTART (integratie van jongeren op de arbeidsmarkt) en INTEGRA (voor door uitsluiting bedreigde personen).
