until the Executive Director takes up his duties following his/her appointment by the Governing Board in accordance with clause 8 of the Annex, the Commission may designate a Commission official to act as interim Executive Director and exercise the duties assigned to the Executive Director who may be assisted by a limited number of Commission officials:

For that purpose, until such time as the executive director takes up his/her duties following his/her appointment by the governing board in accordance with Article 7(2) of the statutes, the Commission may assign a limited number of its officials, including one to fulfil the functions of the executive director, on an interim basis.
