I should like to say a word on this, because otherwise welcoming the fact that foreign tourists have been allowed in again, without saying a word about everything that has happened, about the convictions, the public trials, the militarisation of Lhasa when the Olympic torch was passing through, the freedoms that continue to be denied, the torture which continues to be handed out, is a rather one-sided way of tackling a problem.
Ik wil daar graag iets over zeggen, omdat het anders een nogal eenzijdige benadering van een probleem is om te zeggen dat het een goed teken is dat buitenlandse toeristen weer worden toegelaten, en geen woord over alles wat er gebeurd is: de veroordelingen, de openbare berechtingen, de militarisering van Lhasa toen de Olympische vlam daar doorheen kwam, de vrijheden die mensen nog steeds worden ontzegd, de martelingen die nog steeds doorgaan.
