TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Slovenia is a member of the European Union, Croatia is already recognised as equivalent by Decision 2003/17/EC, and Serbia should be added being a member of the OECD Scheme for the Varietal Certification of Seed moving in International Trades and member of the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) as regards the seed sampling and testing.
Slovenië is lid van de Europese Unie, Kroatië wordt door Beschikking 2003/17/EG al als gelijkwaardig erkend, en Servië moet worden toegevoegd omdat het lid is van de OESO-regeling voor de rassenkeuring van zaad dat is bestemd voor het internationale handelsverkeer, alsmede van de International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) wat de bemonstering en het testen van zaaizaad betreft.

Decision 2007/66/EC requires that the ISTA (International Seed Testing Association)/ISF (International Seed Federation) Experiment on Herbage Seed Lot Size, as adopted by the Council of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development), be followed, when derogating from the maximum size of gramineae seed lots.
Beschikking 2007/66/EG schrijft voor dat, wanneer wordt afgeweken van de maximumomvang van partijen zaaizaad van Gramineae, het door de Raad van de OESO (Organisatie voor Economische Samenwerking en Ontwikkeling) goedgekeurde document „Experiment on Herbage Seed Lot Size” (Experiment inzake de omvang van partijen graszaad) van de ISTA (International Seed Testing Association)/ISF (International Seed Federation) wordt gevolgd.

The conditions for seed production, field inspection, sampling and testing provided for in Directives 66/401/EEC, 66/402/EEC, 2002/55/EC and 2002/57/EC are based on internationally accepted standards, as established by the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Current international practice, namely the ISTA (International Seed Testing Association)/ISF (International Seed Federation) Technical Protocol, approved by the ISTA Executive Committee on 10 February 2006, and adopted by the Council of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) on 24 May 2006 permit procedures whereby the maximum weight of a lot may be increased for grasses.

In addition to lessons learned from Fukushima and the stress tests, the proposal is based on various sources of expertise, notably ENSREG, the group of scientific experts established under the Article 31 of Euratom Treaty, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA), reports from non-EU countries such as Japan or the US, etc. It also takes into account the views expressed by stakeholders, including national regulators, industry and civil society.

Reiterates its respect for the milestones achieved in the international protection of indigenous peoples’ rights over their genetic and other resources and associated traditional knowledge, enshrined in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, in the ILO Convention No 169, in Article 8(j) of the CBD and in the Nagoya Protocol; expresses its concern at the genetic erosion occurring as a consequence of the almost exclusive dominance on the market of industrially produced seeds, i.e. seeds protected by intellectual property rights, to the detriment of traditional seed varieties;
6. uit opnieuw zijn respect voor de mijlpalen die werden bereikt met betrekking tot de internationale bescherming van het recht van inheemse volken op hun genetische en andere hulpmiddelen en de verwante traditionele kennis, zoals vastgelegd in de Verklaring van de VN over de rechten van inheemse volken, in het ILO-verdrag nr. 169, in artikel 8, onder j), van het VBD en in het Nagoyaprotocol; uit zijn zorg over de genetische erosie die optreedt als gevolg van de vrijwel volledige marktdominantie van industrieel geproduceerde zaden, dat wil zeggen zaden die worden beschermd door intellectuele-eigendomsrechten, ten nadele van traditionele zaadvarianten;
