TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Representatives of the United States and of the European Union and its Member States confirmed that the Protocol to Amend the Air Transport Agreement between the United States of America and the European Community and its Member States, initialled in Brussels on 25 March 2010, is to be authenticated in other languages, as provided either by Exchange of Letters, before signature of the Protocol, or by decision of the Joint Committee, after signature of the Protocol.
De vertegenwoordigers van de Verenigde Staten en de Europese Unie en haar lidstaten hebben bevestigd dat het Protocol tot wijziging van de luchtvervoersovereenkomst tussen de Verenigde Staten van Amerika en de Europese Gemeenschap en haar lidstaten, dat op 25 maart 2010 te Brussel is geparafeerd, authentiek moet worden verklaard in andere talen, ofwel vóór de ondertekening van het Protocol door een uitwisseling van brieven, ofwel na de ondertekening van het Protocol door een besluit van het Gemengd Comité.

In accordance with Article 18(5) of the Air Transport Agreement, as amended by the Protocol, the Joint Committee established thereunder has developed a proposal for the accession of Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway to the Air Transport Agreement, as amended by the Protocol.
Overeenkomstig artikel 18, lid 5, van de EU-VS-luchtvervoersovereenkomst, zoals gewijzigd bij het protocol, heeft het bij die overeenkomst opgerichte Gemengd Comité een voorstel opgesteld voor de toetreding van IJsland en het Koninkrijk Noorwegen tot de EU-VS-luchtvervoersovereenkomst, zoals gewijzigd bij het protocol.

RECOGNISING that it is furthermore necessary to lay down procedural arrangements for the participation of Iceland and Norway in the Joint Committee set up under Article 18 of the Air Transport Agreement as amended by the Protocol and in the arbitration procedures provided for in Article 19 of the Air Transport Agreement as amended by the Protocol.
ERKENNENDE DAT het bovendien noodzakelijk is om procedurele regelingen vast te stellen voor de deelname van IJsland en Noorwegen aan het bij artikel 18 van de luchtvervoersovereenkomst, zoals gewijzigd bij het protocol, opgericht Gemengd Comité en aan de bij artikel 19 van het de luchtvervoersovereenkomst, zoals gewijzigd bij het protocol, voorziene arbitrageprocedures.

20. Recognises that air agreements often give a substantial role to a joint committee, particularly with regard to regulatory convergence; accepts that, in many cases, this a more flexible and effective means of decision-making than seeking to include such points in the agreement itself; underlines, nevertheless, the importance of Parliament receiving full and timely information about the work of the various joint committees;

Where any alert threshold, limit value or target value plus any relevant margin of tolerance or long-term objective is exceeded due to significant transboundary transport of air pollutants or their precursors, the Member States concerned shall cooperate and, where appropriate, draw up joint activities, such as the preparation of joint or coordinated air quality plans pursuant to Article 23 in order to remove such exceedances through the application of appropriate but proportionate measures.
1. Wanneer een alarmdrempel, grenswaarde of streefwaarde, verhoogd met de toepasselijke overschrijdingsmarge, of een langetermijndoelstelling ten gevolge van aanzienlijk grensoverschrijdend transport van verontreinigende stoffen of de precursoren daarvan wordt overschreden, werken de betrokken lidstaten samen en ontplooien zij, indien passend, gezamenlijke activiteiten, zoals het opstellen van gezamenlijke of gecoördineerde luchtkwaliteitsplannen overeenkomstig artikel 23, teneinde zulke overschrijdingen op te heffen door de uitvoering van passende maar evenredige maatregelen.

(25) Taking into account that the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking is not designed to fulfil an economic purpose and is responsible for managing the Joint Technology Initiative on "environmentally friendly Technologies in Air Transport", it is necessary for the performance of its tasks that the Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the European Communities of 8 April 1965 apply to the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking and its staff.
(25) Rekening houdend met het feit dat de gemeenschappelijke onderneming Clean Sky geen economisch oogmerk heeft en verantwoordelijk is voor het beheer van het Gezamenlijke technologie-initiatief inzake "milieuvriendelijke technologieën in luchtvervoer" is het voor de uitvoering van haar taken nodig dat het Protocol inzake voorrechten en immuniteiten van de Europese Gemeenschappen van 8 april 1965 van toepassing is op de gemeenschappelijke onderneming Clean Sky en haar personeel.
