TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

The rapporteur firmly believes that responsible, well-targeted use of antibiotics in both human and veterinary medicine and global infection control strategies aimed at all health sectors (hospitals, long-stay facilities, and outpatient clinics) should form the foundations for effective action to prevent the selection and transmission of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Tegen deze achtergrond is de rapporteur ervan overtuigd dat een verantwoord en gericht gebruik van antibiotica, zowel bij mensen als bij dieren, in combinatie met algehele strategieën voor infectiebestrijding in alle zorgsectoren (ziekenhuizen, verpleeghuizen en ambulante zorg), de hoeksteen vormt van een effectieve aanpak om selectie en overdracht van resistente bacteriën te voorkomen.

22. Calls on the Member States to apply, wherever possible, hospital patient safety strategies and programmes in non-hospital care environments (in long- and medium-stay facilities, but also in the home);
