International cooperation takes place under the 1979 UNECE Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP), which has a number of legally binding protocols.
Internationale samenwerking vindt plaats in het kader van het VN/ECE-Verdrag van 1979 betreffende grensoverschrijdende luchtverontreiniging over lange afstand, dat een aantal juridisch bindende protocollen omvat.

Furthermore, as is mentioned in the Strategy, international action under the Protocol on Heavy Metals under the Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution Convention (LRTAP) should also be taken into consideration.
