– (PL) Mr President, as I have one minute to take the floor about the report on the situation of women in armed conflicts and their role in reconstruction and the democratisation process in post-conflict countries, I would like to point out that one of the conditions for the playing of a positive role in conflict resolution, and not only by women, is a high level of personal development, which makes it possible to work in the family and to promote the development of the family as well as bringing up children, but which also makes it possible to strive to achieve justice, security and respect for human dignity in other communities, all of which are of the utmost importance to the younger generation, which is particularly exposed to the trauma of armed conflicts.
– (PL) Mijnheer de Voorzitter, ik heb maar een minuut om iets te zeggen over het verslag over de situatie van de vrouw in gewapende conflicten en haar rol in de wederopbouw en het democratische proces in landen die zich in een postconflictsituatie bevinden. Ik wil erop wijzen, dat een voorwaarde voor een positieve bijdrage, niet alleen van vrouwen, aan de oplossing van conflicten een hoog persoonlijk ontwikkelingsniveau is. Zo kunnen mensen werken in het gezin en voor de ontwikkeling van hun gezin, en kinderen opvoeden. Maar dat niet alleen, zo kunnen ze ook streven naar rechtvaardigheid, veiligheid en respect voor de menselijke waardigheid in andere gemeenschappen, en dat is essentieel voor de jonge generatie, die vaak als eerste slachtoffer wordt van gewapende conflicten.

Corrective factors will be taken into consideration as a country’s absorption capacity or specific situations as in the case of post-conflict countries.
