Hip, knee and shoulder total joint replacements already certified following the procedure relating to the EC type examination set out in Annex III to Directive 93/42/EEC, coupled with the procedure relating to the EC verification set out in Annex IV or the procedure relating to the EC declaration of conformity set out in Annex V to that Directive, are not affected by the present Directive as these certification schemes are the same for both class IIb and class III medical devices.
Volledige heup-, knie- en schouderprothesen waarvoor reeds een verklaring is afgegeven volgens de procedure voor het EG-typeonderzoek zoals vastgesteld in bijlage III bij Richtlijn 93/42/EEG, gekoppeld aan de procedure voor de EG-keuring zoals vastgesteld in bijlage IV of de procedure met betrekking tot de EG-verklaring van overeenstemming zoals vastgesteld in bijlage V bij die richtlijn, vallen niet onder de onderhavige richtlijn, daar deze certificeringsregelingen dezelfde zijn voor medische hulpmiddelen van klasse IIb als voor medische hulpmiddelen van klasse III.
