Gezien de ernst van de situatie dient de Commissie met spoed de samenwerking met de nationale autoriteiten te versterken bij de hulpverlening aan de getroffenen, het minimaliseren van de gevolgen van de branden en overstromingen en alle nationale initiatieven om met overheidssteun het productiepotentieel van de getroffen regio’s te herstellen. Er dienen arbeidsplaatsen gecreëerd te worden en de sociale kosten van het verlies van werkgelegenheid en inkomstenbronnen dienen gecompenseerd te worden.
