The European Union (EU) has agreed to support a user-friendly global information management system on illicit small arms, light and other illicit conventional weapons and ammunition to reduce the risk of their illicit trade. The system is called iTrace.
De Europese Unie (EU) is akkoord gegaan met de ondersteuning van een gebruiksvriendelijk mondiaal informatiebeheerssysteem inzake illegale handvuurwapens, lichte en andere illegale conventionele lichte wapens en munitie om het risico van illegale handel te beperken. Het systeem heet iTrace.

26. Recalls that the CFSP and CSDP, should also lead to disarmament and non-proliferations of weapons ranging from small and light weapons (SALW) to nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles; urges the VP/HR to give this policy priority by promoting a new series of proactive measures addressing the issues of landmines, cluster munitions and depleted uranium ammunition, and small and light weapons, biological, chemical and nuclear weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery; urges the VP/HR to report to the European Parliament about the implementation of the 2010 NPT Review Conference and its action plan on disarmament and non-proliferation on an annual basis;

Urges the EU and the United States to seek to ensure the revival of negotiated arms control and disarmament at multilateral level within the UN system and at bilateral level, in order to prevent a new arms race and reduce the existing arms arsenals, and to support regional and global action to prevent the proliferation not only of weapons of mass destruction but also of small arms, light weapons and land mines by providing adequate resources; calls on the EU and the USA efficiently to implement their respective Codes of Conduct on Arms Exports and to promote the elaboration of a UN Arms Trade Treaty preventing the delivery of small arms and light weapons to regions of conflict;
