Moreover, in its resolution of 16 November 2000, the Council requested the Commission "to set up, as soon as possible, in cooperation with the ESA and by the end of 2000 at the latest, a joint high-level Task Force involving the Commission and the ESA Executive” in order to “develop further the European space strategy and produce proposals for its implementation".Finally, it is important to mention here that Aeronautics and Space figures among the seven priority thematic areas in the Commission proposal for the 6 Framework Program for research and technological development.
Verder heeft de Raad, in zijn resolutie van 16 november 2000, de Commissie verzocht "om, in samenwerking met ESA, onverwijld en uiterlijk eind 2000 een gezamenlijke task force op hoog niveau in te stellen" om "de Europese ruimtevaartstrategie verder uit te werken en voorstellen te doen voor de uitvoering ervan". Tenslotte is het van belang hier te vermelden dat de lucht- en ruimtevaartindustrie deel uitmaakt van de zeven prioriteitsgebieden in het voorstel van de Commissie voor het zesde kaderprogramma voor onderzoek en technologische ontwikkeling.
