Actions to support policy analysis and development including gathering evidence to understand behaviour on spatial , socio-economic and wider societal aspects of transport are necessary to promote innovation and create a shared evidence base to meet the challenges raised by transport. Activities will target the development and implementation of European research and innovation policies for transport and mobility , prospective studies and technology foresight, and strengthening of the European Research Area.
Er moeten acties worden ondernomen ter bevordering van de beleidsanalyse en ontwikkeling, waarbij onder meer gegevens worden verzameld die inzicht bieden in gedragingen met betrekking tot ruimtelijke, sociaaleconomische en ruimere maatschappelijke aspecten van vervoer, teneinde innovatie te stimuleren en een gezamenlijke gegevensbank tot stand te brengen om de uitdagingen op vervoergebied het hoofd te kunnen bieden. De desbetreffende activiteiten zullen zijn gericht op de ontwikkeling en tenuitvoerlegging van Europees onderzoeks- en innovatiebeleid inzake vervoer en mobiliteit , prospectieve studies en technologische prognoses en de versterking van de Europese onderzoeksruimte.

Scenario development taking into account societal trends, evidence on causalities, policy objectives and technology foresight in a 2050 perspective will be carried out.
Er zullen scenario's worden ontwikkeld waarin rekening wordt gehouden met sociale trends, kennelijke oorzaken, beleidsdoelstellingen en technologische prognoses tot het jaar 2050.

Activities will also, inter alia, build upon and enhance those undertaken in the Eco-Innovation Programme. Funding would be used to license technology foresight software tools for 18 months and to contract expert services to enhance and improve the accessibility and effectiveness of the existing Technology Foresight Communication System (TFCS) with a view to make it a more effective tool and a true collaborative forum with the scientific community.
