More specifically: € 140 bn for high-voltage electricity transmission systems, storage and smart grid applications, €70 bn for gas pipelines, storage, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals and reverse flow infrastructure (to allow gas to flow in both directions), and € 2.5 bn for CO2 carbon dioxide transport infrastructure.

Decisions regarding the appointment and renewal, working conditions including remuneration, and termination of the term of office of the persons responsible for the management and/or members of the administrative bodies of the transmission system operator shall be taken by the Supervisory Body of the transmission system operator appointed in accordance with Article 20.

Enhancing the provision of satellite services in the Community The satellite services which are expected to profit extensively from the proposed framework are: - VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminals) stations, based on business premises: networks of this kind can consist of thousands of satellite earth stations in various configurations, covering the whole of Europe and more, and are used for data-communications, corporate voice traffic, video conferencing, the transmission of training material etc; in Europe, the use of these networks is foreseen, for example, by the car-industries for communications between their headquarters and their retail outlets, by the oil-industries to connect petrol stations to central credit card verification facilities, and by hotel chains to rationalise common purchasing of supplies. The framework would allow the establishment of such networks with very few lincences: 1 COM(93)652 - satellite based, mobile data communications and fleet management systems, roadhaulage companies with long distance fleets are increasing their flexibility via the use of state-of-the art satellite communciations systems to determine the positions of their vehicles and provide them with the latest dispatch information, no matter where the vehicles are.
Verruiming van het aanbod van satellietdiensten in de Gemeenschap De satellietdiensten waarvan wordt verwacht dat zij het meest van het voorgestelde kader zullen profiteren zijn : - VSAT (Very Small Aparture Terminals) - netwerken van kleine satellietgrondstations die opgesteld staan bij bedrijven : dergelijke netwerken kunnen bestaan uit duizenden satellietgrondstations in uiteenlopende configuraties die heel Europa en zelfs een nog groter gebied bestrijken, en worden gebruikt voor datacommunicatie, zakelijke gesprekken, videoconferentie, het doorgeven van cursusmateriaal enz.; In Europa wordt verwacht dat van deze netwerken gebruik zal worden gemaakt door onder andere de autoconstructeurs voor communicatie tussen het hoofdkwartier en de dealers, de olie-industrie voor het aansluiten van benzinestations op centrale voorzieningen voor de controle van creditcards, alsook door hotelketens om de gezamenlijke inkoopactiviteiten te rationaliseren (1) COM(93)652. De kaderregeling zou het mogelijk maken dergelijke netwerken op te richten met een zeer klein aantal vergunningen; het gaat hierbij om : - Mobiele satellietgrondstations voor datacommunicatie en beheer van het wagenpark; wegvervoerbedrijven die op verre bestemmingen rijden kunnen hun flexibiliteit verhogen door het gebruik van moderne satellietcommunicatiesystemen om de positie van hun wagens te bepalen en deze, ongeacht waar zij zich bevinden, van de recentste routeringsgegevens te voorzien.
