Financial assistance shall be available to public sector bodies as defined in point (1) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council (*2), undertaking to provide, in accordance with national law, local wireless connectivity that is free of charge and without discriminatory conditions through the installation of local wireless access points.

Assistance to the implementation of the specifications will also be provided through funding under the Connecting Europe Facility and Horizon 2020 and by ongoing stakeholders initiatives/platforms such as the European eCall Implementation Platform, the iMobility Forum Working Group on SafeApps, TISA guidelines on mapping of safety events into DATEX/TPEG/RDS standards, the European ITS Platform (project funded under TEN-T Call 2012) on DATEX node/national access point and quality of SRTI etc[42].

The European Commission, which I thank, presented a communication focusing on a number of priorities which we have taken up while attempting to extend their scope through various key points: in-depth examination of the problem of consumption by young people, comprehensive provision of information, assistance and prevention, better public information campaigns making the community aware of the risks that they run when they consume alcohol irresponsibly, and examination of the problems of violence, especially domestic, connected with alcohol consumption.
