TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Le 11 août dernier, les autorités de la santé australiennes ont décidé de retirer du marché la spécialité à base de lumiracoxib, suite à 8 notifications de toxicité hépatique grave en Australie (dont deux avec issue fatale et deux autres ayant nécessité une transplantation hépatique); chez un certain nombre de patients, l’atteinte hépatique n’était pas réversible après l’arrêt du lumiracoxib, et les notifications suggèrent que le risque d’atteinte hépatique augmente avec la durée du traitement.
Op 11 augustus jl. beslisten de Australische gezondheidsinstanties de specialiteit op basis van lumiracoxib van de markt terug te trekken. Aanleiding daarvoor waren 8 meldingen in Australië van ernstige levertoxiciteit (waarvan twee met fatale afloop en twee andere waarbij levertransplantatie noodzakelijk was); bij een aantal van de patiënten was de leverschade niet reversibel na stoppen van lumiracoxib, en de meldingen suggereren dat het risico van leverschade toeneemt met de duur van de behandeling.

Cet avertissement fait suite à une réévaluation des cas d’hépatotoxicité avec ce médicament qui a montré que la prise concomitante d’autres médicaments hépatotoxiques, la pré-existence d’une pathologie hépatique (p.ex. hépatite B ou C chronique) et l’abus d’alcool augmentent le risque d’atteinte hépatique.
Dit gebeurde naar aanleiding van een herevaluatie van de gevallen van hepatotoxiciteit met dit geneesmiddel. Daaruit blijkt dat gelijktijdige inname van andere hepatotoxische geneesmiddelen, voorafbestaand leverlijden (bv. chronische hepatitis B of C) en alcoholmisbruik het risico van leveraantasting verhoogt.

Bien que cette atteinte hépatique paraisse asymptomatique et réversible, une hépatotoxicité à long terme ne peut être exclue.
Hoewel deze leveraantasting asymptomatisch en reversibel lijkt, kan levertoxiciteit op lange termijn niet uitgesloten worden.

- Chez les patients présentant un risque élevé d’hémorragie (p. ex. âge > 65 ans, antécédents d’accident vasculaire cérébral, ulcère gastro-duodénal, hémorragie gastro-intestinale, insuffisance rénale, anémie, thrombopénie, atteinte hépatique, diabète), une durée de traitement de 6 mois paraît raisonnable.
