De opdrachten zijn breder gesteld en gericht op rechtstreekse beleidsondersteuning : gezondheidseconomische analyses, health technology assessment, nieuwe financieringssystemen, bevordering van toegankelijkheid, evaluatie van sociale effecten, enz. Internationaal zal het Kenniscentrum ingebed zitten in structuren als INAHTA en WHO en dergelijke.
