Dans l'attente de preuves supplémentaires, l'assurance maladie a opté pour une introduction progressive des nouvelles techniques prometteuses de radiothérapie dans le système de soins de santé en Belgique, sur la base d'un financement temporaire de la recherche.
In afwachting van meer bewijs koos de ziekteverzekering alvast voor een stapsgewijze introductievan de veelbelovende innovatieve radiotherapie techniekenin het Belgische gezondheidszorgsysteem, aan de hand van een tijdelijke onderzoeksfinanciering.

Dans un premier temps, les techniques innovantes prometteuses en radiothérapie et leurs indications ont été identifiées par un groupe de travail comprenant des radiothérapeutes-oncologues belges intéressés ainsi que des représentants du KCE, de l’INAMI, du SPF Santé publique, et de l’Agence Fédérale de Contrôle Nucléaire (AFCN).
Eerst werden de veelbelovende innovatieve radiotherapie-technieken en hun indicaties geïdentificeerd door een werkgroep van geïnteresseerde Belgische radiotherapeuten-oncologen en vertegenwoordigers van het KCE, RIZIV–INAMI, FOD Volksgezondheid – SPF Santé Publique, en het Federaal Agentschap voor Nucleaire Controle (FANC–AFCN).

La présente étude fait partie d’un projet de plus grande envergure qui vise à faciliter l’introduction de techniques innovantes prometteuses en radiothérapie dans le système belge des soins de santé.
Dit onderzoek maakt deel uit van een groter project met als doel te komen tot een getrapte introductie van veelbelovende innovatieve radiotherapie-technieken in het Belgische gezondheidszorgsysteem.

Dans de nombreux autres cas, où les preuves fondées sur les séries de cas ne sont pas encore rassurantes, il semble adéquat de n’utiliser la technique innovante que dans le contexte d’un essai clinique bien contrôlé, afin de permettre d’identifier en temps et en heure les effets secondaires des nouvelles techniques de radiothérapie. Dans l’attente d’une validation clinique ultérieure des techniques innovantes pour des indications spécifiques (paires technique/indication), les décideurs dans le domaine de l’assurance soins de santé n’ont pas d’autres options que d’introduire les nouvelles techniques prometteuses progressivement, en se fondant sur des calculs de couts solides, de même que de créer un registre des traitements innovants en radiothérapie et de leurs résultats cliniques.
In afwachting van verdere klinische validatie van specifieke innovatieve technieken voor specifieke indicaties (techniek/indicatie-paar), hebben de verantwoordelijken van de gezondheidszorg geen andere keuze dan een stapsgewijze introductie van veelbelovende nieuwe technieken op basis van solide kostenberekeningen en de oprichting van een register van innovatieve radiotherapiebehandelingen en hun klinische uitkomsten.
