L’unité vétérinaire travaillera en étroite collaboration avec le Center for Veterinary Medicines (CVM, Centre des médicaments vétérinaires) de la Food and Drug Administration ainsi qu’avec le ministère fédéral de l’agriculture des États-Unis pour mettre en oeuvre des dispositions pratiques en vue de faire progresser les accords de confidentialité convenus entre les États-Unis et l’UE à la fin 2004 pour l’échange d’informations et de documents.
De eenheid Geneesmiddelen voor diergeneeskundig gebruik zal ook nauw samenwerken met het Center for Veterinary Medicines (CVM) van de Amerikaanse Food and Drug Administration en met het Amerikaanse ministerie van Landbouw om praktische regelingen tot stand te brengen in verband met de verdere ontwikkeling van de geheimhoudingsovereenkomsten die eind 2004 tussen de VS en de EU zijn gesloten met het oog op de uitwisseling van informatie en documenten.

La coopération de l'EMEA avec les organismes partenaires mondiaux s'est poursuivie en 2007. L'Agence a joué un rôle actif dans le cadre des conférences internationales sur l'harmonisation (ICH et VICH); elle a collaboré étroitement avec l'Organisation mondiale de la santé, notamment sur des questions liées aux médicaments pour les pays en développement; elle a renforcé son programme d'échange d'informations avec l'administration américaine des denrées alimentaires et des médicaments (US Food and Drug Administration – FDA) dans le domaine des médicaments à usage humain et vétérinaire; et elle a conclu des accords de confidentialité permettant une coopération plus étroite entre l'EMEA, la Commission européenne et les autorités japonaises sur les questions d'ordre réglementaire concernant les médicaments.
De samenwerking van het EMEA met internationale partnerorganisaties is in 2007 op volle kracht voortgegaan. Zo was het Geneesmiddelenbureau actief betrokken bij de internationale conferenties voor harmonisatie van de registratie van geneesmiddelen voor menselijk en diergeneeskundig gebruik (respectievelijk ICH en VICH), werkte het nauw samen met de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie, vooral op het gebied van geneesmiddelen voor ontwikkelingslanden, consolideerde het het informatieuitwisselingsprogramma met de Amerikaanse Food and Drug Administration met betrekking tot geneesmiddelen voor menselijk en diergeneeskundig gebruik, en ondertekende het geheimhoudingsovereenkomsten ten behoeve van een nauwere samenwerking tussen het EMEA, de Europese Commissie en de Japanse instanties voor wat betreft regelgevingskwesties in verband met geneesmiddelen.
