Les trois premiers prix, de 7 000 euros chacun, ont été attribués à Perttu Pölönen de Finlande, pour «Music A' Clock», à Ciara Judge, Emer Hickey et Sophie Healy-Thow, d'Irlande, pour «A statistical investigation of the effects of diazotroph bacteria on plant germination» et à Frederick Turner, du Royaume-Uni, pour «Genetics at home: Building a PCR machine and other equipment for setting up a home genetics lab».
