I hope that the Brazilian Government will come to its senses and in re-examining this case will do what is expected of it and extradite Mr Battisti to Italy as soon as possible and before this affair begins to have serious consequences for the otherwise good EU-Brazil relations.
Ik hoop dat de Braziliaanse regering bij zinnen zal komen en zal doen wat er van haar verwacht wordt door deze zaak opnieuw te onderzoeken en de heer Battisti zo snel mogelijk aan Italië uit te leveren, voordat deze affaire ernstige gevolgen voor de overigens goede betrekkingen tussen de EU en Brazilië krijgt.
